Halle Bailey and her ex-boyfriend, rapper DDG, put aside their differences to celebrate their son Halo’s first birthday in a heartwarming and playful way. The milestone event featured joyful moments, a Cocomelon-themed party, and glimpses into their co-parenting journey.
A Day Full of Love and Celebration
On December 23, Bailey, 24, shared a series of Instagram photos capturing Halo’s special day. “Happy birthday to my Halo,” she wrote. “God gave me the greatest gift in you. Time flies when you’re having fun & mommy just can’t believe that you’re one.” The snaps showed Bailey, DDG, and Halo enjoying the festivities, which included a bounce house, ball pit, and a cake inspired by the popular kids’ channel, Cocomelon.
DDG, 26, shared his perspective on the day via Snapchat. In one clip, Halo, wearing an adorable party hat, is serenaded with “Happy Birthday” before blowing out a golden number-one candle on a cupcake. “HAPPY BIRTHDAY HALO!!!!!!” DDG captioned. “HE GREW UP OVERNIGHT.”
The rapper continued to share behind-the-scenes moments from the “Halomelon” party, documenting everything from tacos at the “Halo Bar” to time spent in the ball pit with his son.
Co-Parenting with Grace
Despite splitting in October, Bailey and DDG appeared united for their son’s big day. Their breakup came after nearly a year of co-parenting. In October, DDG stated, “After much reflection, Halle and I have decided to go our separate ways. We are still best friends and adore each other.”
Bailey has since focused on her personal growth and embracing motherhood. “I think the best part of motherhood is knowing you’re loved unconditionally by this beautiful being,” she shared in an October interview.
Their co-parenting journey hasn’t been without challenges. Bailey voiced concerns over a past livestream involving Halo, emphasizing her role as his “mother and protector.” DDG defended her publicly, stating, “I don’t appreciate when people try to put me against her. We’re navigating something hard together.”
Halo’s first birthday marked a joyful chapter in their parenting story, with Bailey and DDG showing that love for their son transcends their differences.
