Harvey Weinstein is facing another sexual assault charge in Los Angeles, according to reports.
Former movie mogul, Weinstein, is currently serving 23 years in prison in New York after being convicted of committing a criminal sex act in the first degree and rape in the third degree. Prior to this new charge, he was already facing four felony charges in Los Angeles, including forcible rape, sexual penetration by use of force, sexual battery and forcible oral copulation.
“As we gather corroborating evidence, we have reached out to other possible sexual assault victims. If we find new evidence of a previously unreported crime, as we did here, we will investigate and determine whether additional criminal charges should be filed,” Los Angeles County District Attorney Jackie Lacey said in a statement.
If convicted, Weinstein faces up to 29 years in prison.
