The 62nd annual Grammy Awards went down on January 26th, at the Staples Center in Los Angeles.
The award ceremony was bittersweet as earlier in the day, news broke that NBA legend Kobe Bryant passed away. The Grammys and all the artists present did a great job at honoring Kobe Bryant and the late Nipsey Hussle.
Hosted by Alicia Keys, the show opened up with an energetic performance from Lizzo. Lizzo dedicated the performance to Kobe Bryant.

In the spirit of giving tributes, Usher and Sheila E, gave a special performance in tribute to late and great Prince. After the performance Sheila E took to her social media to send a heartfelt message about the performance. She writes, “Sheila E. & Usher after performance glow. What a sad day. So emotional and lost for words. After performing the Prince tribute I felt better. Music brings me joy in the midst of tragedy. My purposes is to bring light. I hope we did.”

Now this is a collab we weren’t expecting! Big Nas and Lil Nas X has a nice ring to it. The two linked up for a dope performance of another version of “Old Town Road” during the biggest night in music. You can hear Big Nas rap, “I don’t lie to them, no fables/Rap god, country flavor, now we worldwide, we made a big brand that’s why our catalog is so major.”
Major indeed! We’re here for the bridge of old school and new school.
