Ike Turner Jr, Son Of Tina & Ike Turner, Passes Away At 67

Ike Turner Jr., the son of Tina Turner and Ike Turner has passed away He was 67.

Accordining to TMZ, Jacqueline Bullock, a family member, said his passing was due to kidney failure. He also had severe heart issues and suffered a stroke in September.

“It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of my cousin, Ike Turner, Jr,” she said in a statement to Page Six

“Junior was more than a cousin to me, but rather a brother. As we grew up in the same famed household together,” Bullock continued.

Bullock also remembered Ike Jr.’s skills as a musician.

 “As the son of Tina and Ike Turner, from an early age, his talents were evident as there wasn’t an instrument he did not want to play.”

“While he favored the drums early on, my aunt and his mother, Tina Turner, insisted that he break down his drum kit after each practice,” she continued. “”This led him to favor the keys. Eventually, Junior would end up helping to run Bolic Sound Studios, the recording studios founded by his father, Ike Turner.”

“While he faced the same challenges that many of us have,” she added. “He would become a sought after sound engineer, musician, and Grammy winner for Best Traditional Blues Album in 2007 for his father’s ‘Risin’ With The Blues,’

Tina and Ike Sr. shared four children together. Tina adopted Ike Sr.’s two sons, Ike Jr. and Michael, from his previous relationship with Lorraine Taylor, according to PEOPLE.

The couple welcomed their first and only child together, son Ronnie Turner. Tina was also a mom to son Raymond Craig, whom she shared with Raymond Hill.

In May 2023, Tina passed away at the age of 83. Ike Sr., died of a cocaine overdose in December 2007 at the age of 76.

Craig died by suicide in July 2018, and Ronnie, who died of colon cancer four years later.
