Issa Rae is back with another project and this time it has nothing to do with film or television. She has stepped into the world of wine with a new prosecco brand.

Viarae Prosecco is a partnership between Rae and E. & J. Gallo Winery. The prosecco is described as a bright, crisp, lively, and refreshingly refined take on the classic beverage, according to a press release.
“I am thrilled to share my love of Prosecco with everyone through Viarae. It’s carefully crafted, deliciously crisp, and the perfect beverage to celebrate La Dolce Vita,” Rae said in the press release.
For dedicated fans of Rae, prosecco has always been a staple for her on and off screen. Her character, Issa Dee, from her HBO series, Insecure, would always have a glass with her. She would often order a glass of prosecco with a splash of gin and even once switched out the gin for vodka.
Rae’s dreams of founding her own prosecco label was already something she had been working on for years. With Viarae Prosecco, she wants to be able to create representation of Black women in this space. So much so, that even the packaging of the product is gold and brown, symbolizing the elegance of Black women.
