Nearly two weeks after California Senator Kamala Harris announced her bid to join the 2020 presidential race, Cory Booker has announced he’s tossing his name in the hat for the next leader of The Free World as well.
The New Jersey Democratic hopeful personally broadcast the announcement via Twitter at 7:14 AM EST to his 92 million-plus followers saying, “I’m running for president. Join me on this journey. corybooker.com.”

Booker’s statement adds him to the list of politicians who have already verbalized their bid in next year’s presidential election including Kamala Harris and Kirsten Gillibrand. And according to FiveThirtyEight.com, there are approximately “5,000 people seemingly thinking about challenging Donald Trump in 2020,” which could add names like Joe Biden, Hillary Clinton, Julian Castro, and Eric Holder.
