It has become very clear how the city of Philadelphia feels about R.Kelly. On Thursday, Jan. 31, Philadelphia’s city council came together and voted unanimously to have Kelly banned from coming to their city.
The resolution was originally introduced in January by Councilwoman Helen Gym. Gym took to her Twitter to share the news with her followers. “Today my resolution honoring the #MuteRKelly movement is up for a vote in @PHLCouncil. I’m so moved to hear testimony from advocates, survivors, and organizers in support.” This tweet is the one of many in a thread that Councilwoman Gym continued. See below.

This resolution comes from the “Mute R.Kelly” movement that began to pick up after the Lifetime docuseries, Surviving R. Kelly aired in January.
