Ja Rule recently said that he will never squash his beef with 50 Cent and Tony Yayo.
Speaking with TMZ, Ja Rule said he has matured, but he will never have a sit-down with his enemies to resolve their issues.
“Sometimes in life, people have enemies, and that’s okay,” Ja Rule said. “Everybody can’t be friends… But what I’m saying is, we don’t also have to be at war. There’s room for us to be not friends and also not be at war.”
“I don’t deal with that side. And I don’t f**k with them; they don’t fuck with me. That’s fine. But, I also don’t have to be at war.”
Ja Rule’s comments come after an incident in a fight with Tony Yayo and Uncle Murder. When they crossed paths on a Delta flight from San Francisco to New York, the G-Unit affiliates noticed Ja Rule was seated directly in front of them. Video footage shows Yayo and Uncle Murda heckling Ja, leading to a heated exchange.
Following the incident, Ja apologized for his actions.
“I’m not proud of my behavior… I’m a grown man about to be a grandfather, and I wish that video of me wasn’t out there,” he said in a statement shared after the incident. “I want people to know at the end of the day I’m still a man, and I’m going to stand my ground. I don’t start trouble.”
During an appearance on the TODAY show on Wednesday, Ja Rule explained that he felt a responsibility to set a better example.
“Nothing really happened,” Ja said. “There’s a responsibility that we have to be gentlemen. I live by a code, I call it the gentleman’s code, but I’m also raising young men. So you have to let them know that there’s no room for disrespect, but also that there’s a way to carry yourself. So two things can be true.”
Disrespect is not tolerated, but there is a way you carry yourself in certain spaces.” Ja added.
