Jada Pinkett-Smith sets the record straight about her relationship with the late Tupac Shakur.
In a recent interview, the actress said that the late rapper was her soulmate but they had no chemistry. “There are all kinds of definitions of ‘soulmates,’” she said “If there is such a thing as past lives, I definitely think that Pac and I have traveled a few together.”
She was later asked if she has any regrets about not getting romantically involved with Tupac. She laughed and responded, “It just wasn’t possible. There was no chemistry between us.”
Pinkett-Smith said that they had a “friendship-love” chemistry and considered them to be a “dynamic duo.” “It was like God made us that way. It was like, ‘Look, I’m going to put you all together, right?” the actress said. “‘But I’m going to tell you right now, I’m going to make it so you all are not going to be able to get together because that just wasn’t the purpose.’”
Jada Pinkett-Smith and Tupac Shakur attended the same school, The Baltimore School of Arts in the 80’s. The actress went on to marry Will Smith in 1997 and year after Tupac died.
In 2020, the Bad Boys actor revealed that he was jealous of his wife’s friendship with the rapper. This news comes after it was revealed that Will and Jada have been separated since 2016.
