Christian Louboutin has appointed Jaden Smith as its first-ever Men’s Creative Director. The move marks a milestone in the luxury fashion house’s nearly 35-year history. Smith, 27, will relocate to Paris to lead creative design for men’s shoes, leather goods, and accessories.

Smith is to oversee four men’s collections annually. He will also direct campaigns, immersive events, and product launches. His first capsule collection will drop in January, with the full Fall/Winter 2026 men’s line debuting at Paris Men’s Fashion Week.

Christian Louboutin, founder of the eponymous house, will continue to guide the overall vision but cede the men’s creative direction to Smith.

“This is one of the biggest honors of my life, and I feel a lot of pressure to be able to live up to everything that Christian has done for the house, and also stepping into such a serious role,” Smith told WWD. He added, “When he reached out to me, I was just blown away, because of how similar we are and how much we like to do things in a similar manner. I can’t wait to show the world what we’ve been working on.”

Louboutin said he was struck by Smith’s sensibility, calling him “very interesting, very kind, and very, very humble.” He noted Smith’s “unique creative lens” and ability to interpret the house’s heritage in a fresh manner.

Smith is not new to fashion. He has previous collaborations, his own label, and modeling experience. The luxury category expects his appointment to energize the men’s segment of Louboutin, which has lagged in growth compared to its women’s line. Brand watchers say his social media presence and cultural influence could help.

Smith’s selection as the first person to hold this title underscores Louboutin’s shift to adapt to changing tastes in men’s fashion. It reveals ambitions for innovation, performance, and perhaps younger audiences.
