Jaden Smith is coming to a small screen near you as a young Kanye West in Showtime’s new limited series, Omniverse.
The project is coming to life via Smith’s Westbrook Studios production company, famed entertainment exec Scooter Braun’s SB Projects, and writer Lee Sung Jin, and explores the concept of space and time. Season one specifically “explores Ego through an alternate reality Kanye West,” reports Deadline.
In a 2017 interview with High Snobiety, Smith listed Kanye as one of four specific people who have inspired his creativity over the years; thus, it will be interesting to see how the young Hollywood star brings a mini G.O.O.D. Music mogul to life.
Excited to be a part of this project, Lee Sung Jin said, “I’m honored and thrilled to be collaborating with everyone involved to present an alternate world through the eyes of a young man somewhere in the multiverse who happens to also be a Kanye West.”
He continued, “Omniverse is not set in our world nor about our world’s Kanye West as we aim to add a new spin on alternate realities, consciousness, and push the limits of half hour narrative.”
