Jamie Foxx has returned to stage following his alarming health scare last year. US Weekly reports that Foxx stated in an Instagram post, “God is good … As I post these pictures, my heart and my soul is filled with nothing but pure joy.” “On October 3 fourth and fifth I had an opportunity to tell my side of the story and there was no better place than Atlanta, Georgia,” he said during the filming of his forthcoming comedy special, One More Chance: An Evening with Jamie Foxx.

The actor went on to express gratitude towards his supporters, saying, “I haven’t been on stage in 18 years but I needed the stage and I needed an audience that was made up of nothing but pure love and that’s what you were.” Additionally, Foxx noted that despite the special being a stand-up performance, it’s also “an artistic explanation of something that went terribly wrong but thanks to the great people in Atlanta especially Piedmont Hospital you enabled me to come back and be on stage and do what I love to do the most.”

Jamie Foxx: An Intimate Look at His Health Journey

Get ready for a night of laughter, reflection, and genuine connection.” In March, Foxx revealed plans for the special, almost a year after his daughter Corinne disclosed that he had faced a “medical complication.” This health incident arose while filming the Netflix project Back in Action, from which he was discharged in May 2023.

Foxx still hasn’t specified what the health scare was, except for voicing that he “couldn’t actually walk” after the ordeal. In July, he said to his fans, “I don’t remember anything,” via a social media clip. He added, “I won’t say it on camera. Yeah. I won’t say it on camera. But it was …”
