Janet Jackson Revealed She Turned Down The Role Of Storm In ‘X-Men’

Janet Jackson says she turned down an iconic role that eventually went to Halle Berry. 

During a recent interview on The Drew Barrymore Show, Jackson said that she originally offered the role of Ororo ‘Storm’ Munroe in the first X-Men film. “Oh, this is horrible- I can’t remember the film,” she said when asked about roles that she has turned down. “But Halle Berry played Storm…”

“X-Men?”, the talk show asked. Jackson added, “But I couldn’t, because I was just embarking on the Janet tour.”  According to reports, the singer was talking about “The Velvet Rope” tour which ended in 1999, which is the same year that X-Men began filming. However, in 2000, she would continue acting and had starring role in the hit movie, Nutty Professor II: The Klumps. 

She went on to say that she would love to act again after appearing in her last role in For Colored Girls that was released in 2010.
