Jasmine Crockett and Marjorie Taylor Greene got into a heated argument during Thursday night’s Housing meeting.
In a now-viral video, the congresswomen can be seen and heard exchanging words during the meeting. The argument began as a disagreement between the two women before Greene said to Crockett, “I think your fake eyelashes are messing up what you’re reading.”
Highly upset by Greene’s comment, rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez interjected and demanded that the comments be removed from the records. “That is absolutely unacceptable, how dare you attack the physical appearance of another person.”
Greene would respond, “Are your feelings hurt?” Although they agreed to strike the comment, Greene refused to apologize for what she said. Shortly after that, Greene insulted AOC’s intelligence after trying to engage in a debate.
The committee allowed Greene to finish her statement before the confrontation between her and Crockett happened. While asking for clarity on what can and cannot be said on the floor, she said, “I’m just curious, just to better understand your ruling. If someone on this committee then starts talking about somebody’s bleach-blonde, bad built, butch body, that would not be engaging in personalities, correct?”
She then defended her statements while her fellow committee members told her to “calm down.” Watch the video below.
Crockett would respond on social media about the shocking moment between her and Greene. “So MTG wanted to talk about my appearance in COMMITTEE?! It’s against the rules to do… She refused to apologize! The chairman ruled that it was ok… AND I asked for clarification about what qualifies as “engaging in personalities” & basically wanted to know if I could talk shit about her appearance as… well… y’all know what she looks like, right? PEOPLE IN GLASS HOUSES! This is what happens when mentally deficient people who can’t read and follow rules or just don’t give a damn… somehow end up in CONGRESS!”
Greene would share her point of view of what happened during the meeting. See what she said below.
