Rymir Satterthwaite has officially dropped his lawsuit claiming that Jay-Z is his father. Satterthwaite has long alleged that Jay-Z had a relationship with his late mother, Wanda, in the early 1990s.

On Friday, July 18, the Roc Nation cofounder’s legal team demanded Satterthwaite’s latest lawsuit, filed in federal court, be dismissed immediately. The mogul said he’s been dealing with Satterthwaite’s claims since 2010.

Jay-Z has always denied the claims. His lawyers say the allegations are false and part of a harassment campaign. Courts have rejected the claims several times due to lack of evidence and other legal issues.

As U.S Magazine reports, the “Holy Grail” rapper’s legal team pointed out Satterthwaite’s paternity was previously established for someone else in a court proceeding — someone “who [Satterthwaite’s] mother claimed no later than 1994 was [Satterthwaite’s] father — and the person was ordered to pay child support.”

The other man, Robert Graves, took a DNA test and was ruled out. Jay-Z has never agreed to take a test, which led Satterthwaite to file multiple lawsuits over the years. Many were dismissed due to jurisdiction rules or timing under Pennsylvania law.

As Rymir has previously noted, he and his family’s first intuition was not to bring publicity and attention to the paternity back and forth. However, it was the Jay-Z’s refusal to take a private paternity test on multiple occasions that led them to voice out and go the legal route.
