Things could become heated between Jeezy and Jeannie Mai after he hired a big time lawyer to defend her in her upcoming custody battle.
Reports stated that Mai acquired Randall Kessler after her soon to be ex-husband filed to have joint custody of their 1-year-old daughter Monaco amid their divorce. Kessler has worked with multiple Atlanta-based celebrities in their divorces and custody battles. He has also worked on some high profile cases that included Michael Jordan, Ludacris, and T.I.
Mai hired Kessler almost a month after she was served divorce papers from Jeezy. In the paperwork, he cited that their marriage was “irretrievably broken.” Jeezy would later break his silence about filing for divorce.
“The decision to end this chapter in my life was not made impulsively and comes with a heavy heart. Despite this, my love and respect for Jeannie remains and the time we spent together holds a cherished place in my heart,” the rapper said in a statement.
Jeannie also released a statement and said, “I’m taking it day by day…I’m just focusing on Monaco and focusing on things that I’m passionate about. When you’re surrounded by people, you just get to laugh and look at things that you enjoy doing in life.”
