Jennifer Hudson speaks out after she was hit in the face by a basketball during a Knicks game at Madison Square Garden.

Hudson was attending the game with her boyfriend rapper, Common and they were sitting courtside. During the second quarter of the game, Knicks player Miles “Deuce” McBride, tried to go after the ball as it was going out of bounds. However, the ball and Duece ended up in the talkshow host’s face. Common tried to intercept as best as he could.

While filming an episode of her talk show, JHud gave her audience an update on how she was feeling after the incident. She said that overall, she was OK and added that being a boy mom and him having a lot of boy cousins, she was familiar with “expecting the unexpected.”

‘First of all I want to say: ‘I’m OK,” she said. “Thank God I have a son and like seven of his cousins so I roll with a basketball team, OK?”

She continued, “I told y’all I’m a boy mom. And what that means is I’ve been on the basketball court many a days playing with these children so they trained mama well to be able to take the game. I was ready.”

As Hudson continued, she went on to say that she did receive an apology video from the basketball player as well as some flowers that he sent to her studio.
