Jennifer Lopez Says Her Next Man Must ‘Earn’ Her Heart

Jennifer Lopez is setting the record straight on her standard for a new relationship.

The multi-hyphenate said that if her next man wants her heart, he has to “earn it.”

According to Complex, Lopez addressed her love life during a show in Las Vegas for her ongoing residency on Jan. 3. She shared her new perspective after performing  her 1999 hit song, “If You Had My Love.” Lopez revealed that “she initially sang the song with hope.” But as time passed, she now sings it “from a place of power.

“Because the truth is, if you wanted to have my love, you would have to earn it,” Lopez told the crowd, “You would have to treat me right. And you would have to respect me. You’d have to accept me for all that I am. You’d have to love me if you wanted my love.”

Lopez also spoke about the price of love.

“You can’t have love without heartbreak,” Lopez said.

Lopez’s most recent comments stem from her claiming that she’s in her  “happy era.” On the opening night of her residency at The Colosseum Theater at Caesars Palace. She even took some time to address her divorce from Ben Affleck last year.

“It’s over, and we just, boom, and it’s fine. It’s all good,” Lopez said of the split. “The good news is that I’m learning and I’m growing. We’re in our happy era right now.”

While performing in Bilbao, Spain. Lopez joked about her four divorces. At the performance, a fan held up a sign that read “J Lo, marry me?” Lopez hilariously denied the fan’s proposal.

“I think I’m done with that. Yeah, I tried a few times,” Lopez joked.
