The singer took to Instagram to express her heartbreak and extend prayers to others affected by the tragedy. “Praying for everyone this morning,” Aiko wrote. “Those who lost their home, those who lost their life’s work, those who lost their life. Praying for my city. Praying for the wildlife and lost pets. Praying for the world.”

In a second post, Aiko revealed the extent of her personal loss. “Me and my children’s home is gone,” she shared. “Burned to the ground with all of our things inside. Lord have mercy. Thankful we still have each other. Starting from scratch. My heart is so heavy.”

According to Cal Fire, multiple fires have erupted across Southern California this week, forcing over 100,000 residents to evacuate. The Palisades Fire alone has scorched nearly 27 square miles, while the Eaton Fire has burned over 16 square miles, destroying nearly 1,000 structures and claiming five lives.

For Aiko, the loss is personal but has also deepened her compassion for others. “Let suffering be a gift; a lesson in compassion,” she reflected in her post. Despite the tragedy, Aiko emphasized gratitude for her family’s safety, stating, “Thankful we still have each other.”

Aiko, 36, is a mother to two children: 16-year-old Namiko Love and 2-year-old Noah Hasani, whom she shares with rapper Big Sean. The singer, known for her soulful music and candid expressions of emotion, has found solace in her family’s resilience.

As the fires continue to impact communities across Los Angeles, Aiko’s heartfelt words serve as a reminder of the strength found in unity. “God bless us ALL,” she concluded.
