Jill Scott Announces Her First Album In 10 Years ‘To Whom This May Concern’

Jill Scott has announced her first album in 10 years. Titled, To Whom This May Concern the Grammy-winning singer has released the lead single, “Beautiful People.”

Taking to Instagram, Scott revealed the news of To Whom This May Concern to her followers on Friday (Jan.2).

In a statement, Scott’s vision for the album is explained.

“At its core, To Whom This May Concern is an offering leaning heavily into the power of connectivity, humanity, and collective home. It reflects Scott’s grit and grace.  Grounded in her lifelong commitment to inspire, uplift, and remind us that sometimes the most powerful magic is simply showing up with love, truth, and with always a song in heart.”          

The project features production from Adam Blackstone, Om’Mas Keith, DJ Premier, Camper, and Andre Harris. Also, Siege Monstracity, Trombone Shorty, Eric Wortham, DW Wright, and VT Tolan. Ab-Soul, J.I.D., Tierra Whack, and Too $hort are all featured guests.

In an interview with Million Dollaz Worth of Game, Scott shared some of the album’s themes.

Scott said, “It’s a lot of living in this album, and it’s a lot of revelation. Musically, it’s a full spectrum. Had some wonderful musicians come in. I feel touched all over, literally… The musicianship on this project and the people that gravitated towards it, I couldn’t be happier. I couldn’t have ever even imagined who is on this album.”

Woman, her previous album,was released back in July of 2015. It was her final release on Atlantic Records, debuting at No. 1 on the Billboard 200. In 2025, she celebrated the 25th anniversary of her first album, Who Is Jill Scott?: Words and Sounds Vol. 1.
