Jill Scott has come under fire from fans on social media after she came to Chris Brown’s defense.
The “The Way” singer began trending on X (formerly Twitter) after she heard Brown’s diss song against another rapper and praised him for his talents. “@chrisbrown is amazing. How does ANYBODY sing like THAT? Dance, look, Act, and Rap… like THAT?” she wrote, however, the tweet has been deleted. “Beyond gifted. It appears, exceptional people to go through exceptional. There’s nothing to debate.”
One user commented and said that the women that the “Run It” singer had abused would not agree with her. Scott replied and revealed that her mother’s ex-husband was also abusive. “I doubt it. My Mother’s ex-husband was a mean, violent human AND he could lay a foundation better than anyone in my city. What he did with cement was awe-inspiring. We got away. He got a raise and praise for his ability. God dealt with the rest.”
Scott’s responses gained more responses and reactions where fans stated that Brown should not be forgiven for his violent tendencies, while others were upset with Jill Scott supporting Chris Brown.
She would later tweet that she wanted to spread and encourage love.
