Former Marvel star Jonathan Majors will be honored at the fourth annual Hollywood Unlocked Impact Awards, months after being convicted in a domestic violence trial.
He will be bestowed with the Perseverance Award at the event. The organization has described this award as something that’s “given to an individual who has shown that no matter what adversity they face, they will continue to aspire to inspire.”
Tiffany Haddish, who can currently be seen on the big screen in Bad Boys: Ride or Die, is hosting the Hollywood Unlocked Impact Awards. The event will also feature performances from musical guests including Fantasia Barrino, Lucky Daye, Yellopain, and Karen Clark Sheard. Other confirmed awards that will be doled out include the Inspiration Award for Cardi B, the Innovator Award for Christian Louboutin, and the Culture Award for Fat Joe. Other awards will be given to Jasmine Crockett, Ben Crump, Da Brat, and Jessica Harris-Dupart.
Majors was on the rise as a revered Hollywood star before domestic violence allegations against the Lovecraft Country star were made public in March 2023. It was alleged that he’d physically assaulted a woman he was dating at the time, though he denied any wrongdoing. Majors was subsequently put on trial and ultimately found guilty on charges of assault and harassment. He was sentenced to one year of a domestic violence intervention program, which he is mandated to complete in order to avoid jail time.
