It is official! Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson is the newest member of the Supreme Court.
The Senate voted for her 53-47, and she received the support of all 50 Senate Democrats and the support of 3 three Republicans, including Mitt Romney, Susan Collins, and Lisa Murkowski.
Brown-Jackson was appointed by President Joe Biden, who kept his promise during his campaign that he would elect the first Black woman to the Supreme Court in its 233-year history.
We recently reported that Brown Jackson had the opportunity to fill the open seat in the Supreme Court after Justice Breyer announced his retirement. Congratulations to Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson.
