Former Vice President Kamala Harris may run again for the presidency.
In an interview with the BBC, Harris shared what her plans could be
“Possibly,” she said when asked about another presidential run. “I am not done. I have lived my entire career a life of service, and it’s in my bones.”
Harris also dismissed early polls, with her running behind the crowded field.
“If I listened to polls, I would have not run for my first office, or my second office — and I certainly wouldn’t be sitting here,” she said.
Harris also said in the interview that she predicted that Donald Trump would run an authoritarian government, which has come true.
“He said he would weaponize the Department of Justice — and he has done exactly that,” she said.
Harris pointed to the suspension of late-night comic Jimmy Kimmel by ABC after his remarks about right-wing analysis Charlie Kirk.
“You look at what has happened in terms of how he has weaponised. For example, federal agencies going around after political satirists… His skin is so thin that he couldn’t endure criticism from a joke. He attempted to shut down an entire media organisation in the process.”
Harris also slammed business leaders who have caved to Trump’s demands.
“There are many… that have capitulated since day one, who are bending the knee at the foot of a tyrant. I believe for many reasons, including they want to be next to power, because they want to perhaps have a merger approved or avoid an investigation.”
Harris also left the door open that she would be open to a position outside of the presidency.
There are many ways to serve,” she said.
Harris reportedly considered a run for governor in her home state of California in 2026 but decided against it.
Harris recently published 107 Days, her account of her rollercoaster campaign.
