Karen Huger will be getting released from prison earlier than expected.

It has been reported that Huger will be released on September 2 after she was sentenced to serve time in prison following a car crash in Potomac, Maryland. In 2024, the Grande Dame was sentenced to two years, with one suspended, and ordered to pay $2,900 in fines as well as receive five years’ probation.

During her accident, the Real Housewives of Potomac star hit several street signs, trees, and a pole. Bodycam footage later showed Huger slurring her words and appearing highly intoxicated. Huger had had other alcohol-related issues; however, this last incident landed her behind bars.

Once she’s released from prison, the reality TV star is not allowed to drive for one year. Fans are excited for her release because there may be a possibility that she could return to RHOP. She announced her departure from the show after she missed the taping of the reunion special.

“After much thought and reflection, I have made the difficult decision to step away from The Real Housewives of Potomac,” she wrote in a post. “This journey has been nothing short of plenty of grande dame energy. I am forever grateful to my loyal fans, Bravo, and my amazing castmates for the memories and support over the years.”

She continued, “While this chapter may be closing, my story is far from over. I am excited to focus on new opportunities, my family, and continuing to elevate my brand in ways that reflect my passion and purpose. Thank you all for your unwavering love and encouragement. The Grande Dame is not going anywhere- just evolving. Stay fabulous and always remember, class and grace never go out of style.”
