Actress Karrueche Tran quietly confirmed she is dating—and content—during a recent podcast appearance. While she declined to name names, her remarks have only intensified speculation about a possible romance with former NFL superstar and current Colorado Buffaloes coach Deion Sanders.

On the Aug. 28 episode of the What’s Next with J. Ryan podcast, host J. Ryan playfully asked Tran, “Is she dating right now? I saw that you took a liking into football recently.” She responded with a coy smile: “Yeah, I’m dating.” When asked if she was enjoying it, her reply was equally direct: “If I wasn’t having fun, I wouldn’t be in it.” Tran added, “I’m at a point in my life, like, I know what I want. I’ve dated a lot. I’ve done a lot… young, old. And so, if I wasn’t happy and content, and feeling good in my situation, I’m not wasting my time.” She closed with a knowing grin: “So yeah, I’m in a good place.”

Subtle Sparks, Intensified Speculation

Though Tran didn’t mention Sanders by name, the remarks follow widespread attention after she appeared at his bedside in a video documenting his recovery from a bladder cancer surgery earlier this summer. That footage showed Tran offering emotional support, prompting widespread speculation and speculation that only grew stronger after her recent podcast comments.

Sanders, for his part, neither confirmed nor denied any romantic involvement. On a separate podcast appearance, he calmly deflected the question with humor: “We got a bad connection,” he joked when asked about Tran.

Karrueche Moving on Her Own Terms

With a career built on resilience and reinvention—from her Emmy-winning work on The Bay to her stints on Claws and other series—Tran appears determined to chart her personal life just as intentionally. She emphasized that relationships must align with her happiness and energy, otherwise she’d rather be at home, “namaste, chile, in bed at 9 o’clock doing my own thing.”

At 37, she says she’s avoiding drama and seeking authenticity. “If I wasn’t having fun, I wouldn’t be in it,” she reiterated. The clarity of her candor hints at a fresh, self-assured chapter unfolding—romantic or otherwise.
