Comedian Katt Williams didn’t hold back during a recent appearance at New York Magazine’s Vulture Festival, where he addressed Saturday Night Live (SNL) and its history of parodying him. Williams claimed the show’s decision to have female cast member Ego Nwodim impersonate him in a recent skit reflects how the show views him—and he isn’t happy about it.

“They Don’t F**k With Me” said Katt Williams

Over the years, Williams has been parodied on SNL nine times but has never been invited to host. While some might see this as a snub, Williams views it differently. “At this point, I take it as a badge of honor that they don’t f**k with me,” Williams said at the event. Despite his sharp words, Williams expressed pride in standing apart from the iconic sketch show’s roster.

Reflecting on the parody, Williams suggested the casting choice was deliberate and revealing. “A lot of times, when people are doing an impression of you, they’re really showing you how they feel about you,” he said. He then added, “For Saturday Night Live to have an impression of me and have a woman do that? It means they think I’m a b**ch.”

The recent sketch in question, which aired shortly after Williams’ headline-making Club Shay Shay interview with Shannon Sharpe, poked fun at Williams’ distinctive style and mannerisms. Nwodim’s portrayal included exaggerated comments like, “Three things about me: I’m 5’3, I have never told a lie, and I am 6’3.” The parody earned praise from fans online, with one viewer calling it “perfection.”

Not Bothered, but Noticed

Despite his strong statements, Williams clarified he isn’t personally upset by the parody. “I understand that that’s what they’re saying when they do that,” he acknowledged. However, the comedian’s remarks suggest a deeper tension between him and the long-running NBC series.

While SNL remains silent on the matter, fans are divided. Some applaud the show’s humor, while others support Williams’ assertion that he’s been unfairly excluded. For now, Williams seems content wearing his outsider status as a badge of honor.

Whether or not the comedian will ever host SNL, his sharp commentary ensures he remains part of the cultural conversation.
