The interviewer asked if Kem was finished having children. “We’ve been done before,” he joking replied. “It’s an honor that God has given us the opportunity to raise his kids. I’m honored. It’s not a burden. It’s not hard. It’s the privilege of my lifetime to be a father.”
Kem has seven children, with the youngest having been born in late 2024. He has two daughters, Troi and Laylah, and a son with his currently pregnant wife Erica. Kem married Erica Owens on November 9, 2019, in a ceremony held in Hawaii.

There were just too many coincidences. This is where I’m supposed to be.”
Kem released his debut album, Kemistry, in 2002 leading to a deal with Motown Records. Since then he has released six more albums and received three grammy nominations.
