Kevin Hart has officially been announced as the host of the 25th Annual BET Awards, set to air live on June 9, 2025. The milestone ceremony will take place at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles, marking a quarter-century of honoring Black excellence in music, film, television, and sports.
The announcement marks a full-circle moment for Hart, who first hosted the BET Awards in 2011. Known for his sharp humor and high energy, the comedian expressed gratitude and excitement about returning to the BET stage.
“I love a celebration! It’s a chance to reflect, cherish, and honor life’s unforgettable moments,” Hart said in a statement released by BET. “I’m truly honored to host the 25th BET Awards and celebrate the culture’s biggest night. This year marks the 25th anniversary, and my partners at Hartbeat, BET, and Jesse Collins Entertainment are ready to make this the most unforgettable show yet.”
Kevin Hart and BET’s Relationship
Hart’s connection with BET runs deep. In 2008, he hosted “Comic View: One Night Stand,” a revival of the network’s legendary stand-up series. In 2013, he starred in and co-created “Real Husbands of Hollywood,” a scripted parody series that became a hit among viewers. Most recently, Hart launched an adult animated series titled “Lil Kev” on BET+ in March 2025. The show, based on Hart’s childhood, was produced by his entertainment company, Hartbeat.

A Weekend of Culture and Community
The 25th BET Awards will be the highlight of a week-long celebration. The BET Experience (BETX) will take place from June 5–8 in Los Angeles, leading up to the big night. Fans can expect celebrity basketball games, comedy shows, exclusive parties, and panel discussions that highlight Black innovation and influence.
The awards show will feature powerful tributes, live performances, and a look back at 25 years of cultural milestones. Performers, presenters, and nominees are expected to be announced in the coming weeks.
