Kim Kardashian has recently helped a woman get released from prison in New Jersey.

Reports state that Dawn Jackson served 25 years in prison after she fatally stabbed a man who she claims was sexually abusing her. Sources close to Kardashian revealed that she played a major role in Governor Phil Murphy’s decision to commute Jackson’s sentence.

The reality TV star had been fighting for Jackson’s release since 2018 after she received letters about her case. In 1999, Jackson stabbed and killed her step-grandfather and revealed that her public defender told her to plead guilty to first-degree murder, although she said that she was sexually abused since she was a child. Her testimony about the abuse was never presented in court.

After Kim received Jackson’s letters, she was convinced to reach out to Gov. Murphy to commute her 30-year sentence, allowing her to be free five years early. Dawn Jackson is set to be released from prison soon and will be on supervised parole until March 23, 2029.

Kim Kardashian has also helped Alice Marie Johnson, get released from prison and she continues to advocate for inmates in New Jersey as well as other places.
