Kimora Lee Simmons is living her best single life.
In a recent interview with PEOPLE, the reality TV star opened up about her single status. She claims she doesn’t “have any prospects” and will not be hopping on any dating apps.
“I wouldn’t go on an app because I don’t even know the first thing about how these people are behaving,” Simmons said
As a mother of five, Simmons is dedicated to giving “1000%” to her kids. Simmons had daughters Ming Lee, 25, Aoki Lee, 23, and Kenzo Lee. Her sons are Gary Lee, 16, and Wolfe Lee, 10, as well as her “bonus son,” Jayden, 19.
“We’re very close, and I try to give them the best advice I can,” she says. “I’ve seen a lot of things. We’re definitely all learning from each other. It’s like a battle of the sexes under one roof.”
Simmons also spoke about the challenges of co-parenting.
“Usually, I would say that I co-parent okay, but the kids are with me full-time,” Simmons says. “I’m pretty much the primary parent. It’s difficult, but I don’t know sometimes what other people are thinking. Guys are weird.”
Simmons also said that “life doesn’t ever revolve around a guy, ever.”
“You have to look out for yourself,” she says. “A man’s not going to be responsible to give you everything in life. It’s important to be independent.”
Along with her own children, Simmons acts as a surrogate parent to the twin daughters of Sean “Diddy” Combs and the late Kim Porter. The twins, D’Lila Combs and Jessie Combs, are now 18. Simmons spoke about her role on Today with Jenna & Friends
“I have my kids, and then I have kids on the side.” She added, “I have a stepdaughter — well, an additional daughter. I have another son, bonus son … one of my friends who passed away, Kim Porter, I have all of her kids … some of them are 18 — twins.”
