Kimora Lee Simmons had some words from her former husband, Russell Simmons.
The Def Jam Records founder claimed that he took care of Kimora and their daughters for numerous years.
On her Instagram Stories, Kimora called out Russell’s response to her claim that she doesn’t have a relationship with the fathers of her children.
Kimora shares two daughters, Ming Lee, 25, and Aoki Lee, 23, with Russell.
“My ‘girls’ are GROWN WOMEN!” Kimora wrote. “You know these are lies. Why are you typing from thousands of miles away in a non-extradition country? Go negotiate and answer your accusers.”
In an interview with PEOPLE, Kimora shared his position on her children’s fathers.
“Usually, I would say that I co-parent okay, but the kids are with me full-time,” says Simmons. “I’m pretty much the primary parent. It’s difficult, but I don’t know sometimes what other people are thinking. Guys are weird.”
“I’m always ‘the mom,’ ” Kimora explained. “I mother people all around me. When I hear people say to me, ‘I’ve come to you as a mom or best friend in my head,’ that’s what I live for.”
Simmons took exception to Kimora’s comments and responded on Threads on Dec. 14 to push back against that characterization.
“There are two sides to every story,” he wrote.
“I gave u $50,000 a month for 20 years,” he wrote, adding, “I was ur best /only friend.” He also said he was the godfather to her other three children “until one day you stole my stock.”
“I have been fighting for my kids’ love and my bread ever since,” Russell continued. He alleges that Kimora threatened to cut off his access to their daughters if he took legal action.
After a 15-year hiatus, Kimora is back on reality TV in her new E! series Kimora: Back in the Fab Lane.
“It’s like a chapter two of life,” she says. “I do think things go in a cycle — it’s not just cliché. I’m living it.”
