LeBron James has made history by becoming the first active player billionaire in the NBA.
James, who joins Michael Jordan and the late Kobe Bryant on that list, earned $121.2 million in 2021, making him the second highest-paid athlete in the world. Fútbol star Lionel Messi is the first highest-paid athlete according to Forbes.
Reports state that James made $387 million playing on the court, but a lot of his income came from his multiple business deals off of the court.
James and Maverick Carter’s Springhill Entertainment, his entertainment company is worth $300 million, his Fenway Sports Groups stake is worth $90 million and he also has a 10% share in Blaze Pizza which is worth $30 million.
The basketball star has also earned $80 million from his three properties in Beverly Hills, Ohio, and Los Angeles. James’ investments have earned him $500 million, including his payment from Beats by Dre in 2014.
