Renowned musician Lenny Kravitz, whose legacy and impact in the music industry have been deeply influential, is set to be honored with the prestigious Music Icon Award at the 2024 People’s Choice Awards.
The 59-year-old artist will not only receive this distinguished accolade but will also grace the stage with a multi-song performance during the ceremony.
The People’s Choice Awards, scheduled for Sunday, Feb. 18 at 8 p.m. ET, will unfold live from Barker Hangar in Santa Monica, Calif. For those unable to attend in person, the show can be streamed via Peacock, NBC, or E!. Simu Liu, the talented actor, is slated to host the event, with production responsibilities handled by Den of Thieves. Executive production duties fall on Jesse Ignjatovic, Evan Prager, and Barb Bialkowski.
Jen Neal, executive vice president of live events and specials at NBC Entertainment, expressed excitement about honoring Kravitz in a statement.
“Lenny’s musical gift is truly unmatched,” she said. “We’re thrilled to honor him as this year’s Music Icon and look forward to seeing what he brings to the stage.”
Lenny Kravitz, building on the momentum from his remarkable 2023, is poised to carry it forward into 2024 with the upcoming release of his album Blue Electric Light on May 24. Notably, he secured a spot as a Hollywood Walk Of Fame inductee in 2023, further solidifying his place in entertainment history.
Kravitz’s recent Golden Globe nomination for Best Original Song – Motion Picture, with his track Road To Freedom from the Netflix film Rustin, garnered critical acclaim. Despite the recognition, the song was unfortunately overlooked for an Oscar nomination for Best Original Song.
As the anticipation for the People’s Choice Awards builds, fans eagerly await Kravitz’s performance and the celebration of his enduring musical contributions. The event will be broadcast live on Feb. 18, honoring this iconic musician alongside past recipients like Christina Aguilera (2021) and Shania Twain (2022).
