R&B sensation LeToya Luckett expressed gratitude for reuniting with her Destiny’s Child bandmates during Beyoncé’s Renaissance Tour. In an interview with PEOPLE before hosting Urban One Honors, Luckett shared the heartwarming details of the reunion, orchestrated by Beyoncé in their Houston hometown in September.
Luckett highlighted the significance of the “loving space” that allowed the iconic girl group, including founding members Beyoncé, LaTavia Roberson, and Kelly Rowland, along with Michelle Williams, to reconnect. The reunion, after years apart, provided an opportunity for the singers to catch up, pray together, and engage in meaningful conversations, especially now that many of them are mothers.
Reflecting on the growth and achievements since their days as young singers in Houston, Luckett remarked on the profound experience of witnessing each member’s journey into adulthood. She emphasized the bond shared by the entire band, including Williams, whom she affectionately referred to as her “sis.”
Luckett credited the special reunion to divine intervention, expressing her closeness with Williams and her pride in the accomplishments of her sisters. A photo shared on Instagram captured the essence of the moment, becoming Luckett’s favorite of 2023.
The Destiny’s Child members also showed their support for Beyoncé at the Los Angeles premiere of her concert film Renaissance: A Film by Beyoncé in November 2023. Although not photographed together, Luckett, Roberson, Rowland, and Williams individually walked the red carpet and celebrated the film’s release on social media.
The legendary group, which disbanded in 2006, has reunited multiple times, with the trio of Beyoncé, Rowland, and Williams performing at various events, including Tina Knowles’ 70th birthday and the 2013 Super Bowl halftime show. LeToya Luckett remains grateful for the blessings of reuniting with her Destiny’s Child sisters, cherishing the love, joy, and healing experienced during these special moments.
