LeVar Burton Is No Longer Interested In Pursuing ‘Jeopardy’ Hosting Gig

LeVar Burton is not interested in gaining a host spot on Jeopardy.

During a recent interview, the actor discussed why he came to that decision and talked about why he wants to go next in his career.

“The crazy thing is that when you set your sights on something… they say be careful of what you wish for because what I found out is that it wasn’t the thing that I wanted after all.”

Burton continued, “What I wanted was to compete. I mean, I wanted the job, right, but then, when I didn’t get it, it was, like ‘Weel, okay, what’s next?’”

He also went on to say that more doors have opened for him since he was turned down for the job. “The opportunities that have come my way as a result of not getting that gig, I couldn’t have dreamt it up. If you had given me a pen and paper and said, ‘Well, so what do you want this really to look like?’ If it doesn’t include Jeopardy, I wouldn’t have been this generous to myself.”

LeVar Burton hosted a few shows after the passing of Alex Trebek late last year. We hope for nothing but the best for Burton and his future endeavors.
