Lifetime Reveals Trailer For Keyshia Coles’ Biopic: ‘This Is My Story’

Premiering on Lifetime, This is My Story will take a deep dive into Cole’s ascension to music fame and explore the complicated yet warmhearted relationship with her mother, Frankie Lons.

Cole serves as the executive producer for the documentary which will be released on June 24 at 8:00 PM.

“This is a story of a daughter’s love for her mother and although my heart remains broken from her untimely passing I am honored to be sharing it with the world,” said Cole.

Keyshia ColeThis is My Story is a story of childhood trauma, tragedy, complexity of love and overcoming obstacles to become the best version of oneself. The movie is dedicated in honor and memory of Frankie. Frankie died of an accidental opioid overdose in 2021,

The “Love” singer is among the latest music artists to have a Lifetime documentary releasing during Black Music Month. T-Boz and Chilli’s documentary, TLC Forever, which premiered June 3, chronicled the journey of the top selling group. Additionally, Mary J Blige serves as the executive producer for her films, Real Love and Strength of a Woman.

The films are the most recent additions to Lifetime’s celebration of Black Music Month. The holiday is a month long celebration of African American artists and their contributions to music. Other Lifetime produced black music documentaries include,Whitney, Toni Braxton: Unbreak My Heart, The Clark Sisters: First Ladies of Gospel and Robin Roberts Presents: Mahalia.
