Groups of women have come forward claiming that R Kelly sexually abused them in some way. An entire movement, “#MuteRKelly” was created after multiple women came out and said that they were abused, or given herpes.
In the trailer, the first part tells the “untold story” of the women. For the first time, all of the women will be able to share the details on the horrific events that allegedly happened. In the clips, R Kelly’s alleged victims Kitti Jones, Jerhonda Pace, Kelly’s ex-wife, Andrea Kelly, Asante McGee, Lisa Van Allen, and singer Sparkle try to hold back tears as they talk about what they went through.
At one point in the clip, Kelly’s ex-wife Andrea said, “God, I can’t take another day, I can’t do this anymore.” She also said that things didn’t get better, only worse.
The project features interviews from over 50 people including the victims, R Kelly’s family members, Mee Too founder Tarana Burke, and celebrities, John Legend, and talk show host Wendy Williams. Wendy broke down on her show a couple months back when she was talking about the allegations. Check it out:
The documentary will air on Lifetime as a 6-hour, 3-part special. The first segment premiers on Thursday, Jan. 3, 2019.
