Lil Kim is keeping it real about some of her fans.
During an appearance on Nick Cannon’s Big Drive, Kim was asked what gives her inspiration.
“My family, my friends, people who believe in me,” Kim said. She then noted, “I can’t stand my fans sometimes.”
When Cannon asked Kim why, she was brutally honest with her response
“I hate them ‘cause they don’t get it. And I really feel like some of them—and I’m not talking to all of them, obviously. But like the ones that think they know me, think they control me, think that they know best for me.’
Cannon made the distinction between real fans and those who are obsessive as “fanatics” and “stans.”
“I told them, believe it or not, y’all are the reason why we’re not where we supposed to be yet,” she revealed.
Cannon shared with Kim that while they can at times go overboard, he fans really love her.
“They love you, though. And they just love you with so much passion and conviction,” Canon explained. “They feel like they so close to you.”
Kim said that she is focusing on moving in the right direction and going to another level.
“Elevation was always my thing,” Kim said. “The reason why I think I’m still moving now is because I had learned to say, f**k, f**k, whatever it ain’t. I don’t care no more. I’m going to do it my way.”
“You’ve been proven, doing it your way has worked this far,” Cannon added.
Elsewhere in the interview, Kim said that she’s working on a film about her life because Notorious the Notorious B.I.G.’s biopic, was inaccurate
“[Notorious] was not accurate,” she said. “A lot of it was not accurate. I’m going to show everybody [what really happened between me and Biggie] in the Lil Kim movie because it’s coming.”
