The inaugurl ‘Fool In Love’ Festival is kicking off this summer with a star-studded line up.
Headlined by Lionel Richie and Diana Ross, the concert fetures a stacked roster of classic R&B and soul stars including Al Green, Nile Rodgers & Chic, Gladys Knight, Chaka Khan, the Isley Brothers, Charlie Wilson, the O’Jays, Smokey Robinson, Dionne Warwick, the Stylistics, the Chi-Lites, George Clinton & Parliament Funkadelic, Zapp, Kool & the Gang, Rose Royce and Morris Day & the Time, among many others.
Lionel Richie and Diana Ross previously collaborated in 1981 for “Endless Love,” one of the biggest-selling tracks in Motown history. Richie wrote the song for a film called Endless Love, which needed an instrumental theme. The director, Franco Zeffirelli, wanted a woman’s voice to add more emotion to the love song and Ross thus was the chosen one.
Living legends aren’t the only performers who are on the stacked lineup. Newer soulful artists such as Durand Jones & The Indications, Thee Sacred Souls, Mayer Hawthorne and Lady Wray are also in the number. Altogether, there are a mind-blowing 67 artists on tap to perform at the one-day festival, which will take place at the Hollywood Park Grounds at Sofi Stadium.
‘Fool In Love’ Fest tickets go on sale on Friday, February 16th. Tickets start at $275 for general admission and there are various levels with different perks available. A fan presale is scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. PT/1 p.m. ET before the general ticket sales start at 2 p.m. PT/5 p.m. ET.
