Legends Lionel Richie, Dionne Warwick, and A Tribe Called Quest have all been nominated to enter the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame class of 2022.
The nominees were announced early Wednesday morning. For an artist to be considered as a nominee to be a part of the hall of fame, Billboard reports that “an artist must have released their first commercial recording 25 years earlier than the year of the nomination.”
Lionel Richie and A Tribe Called Quest are first-time nominees, while this will be Dionne Warwick’s second time to be nominated. They have joined this year’s list with Eminem, Carly Simon, Dolly Parton, Duran Duran, and more.
Out of this list of nominees, the first five artists to receive the most votes will be announced to enter the class of 2022 in May.
There’s no word on when and where the ceremony will take place this year. We will keep you posted when more.
