This all stemmed from a discussion between Swizz Beatz and Usher, where the Verzuz creator asked about a battle between Lil Kim and rapper Nicki Minaj. Usher said:
“Nicki is a product of Kim!”
His comment sent fans in a frenzy and actress LisaRaye is the latest to speak on the controversy. During an episode of “Cocktails With Queens,” she suggests that Nicki needs to take a seat and pay homage to Lil Kim.
Claudia Jordan asked:
“Why are they mad at saying Lil Kim paved the way? She did!… What’s wrong with that?… I don’t know why the fans are getting so mad at Usher.”
Raye replied:
“It’s almost like we need to stop them and put them in their place. Music is not the mafia! It’s entertainment! What is the beef for? She is who she is! She is shining in her light! She is Lil Kim, Queen Bee for real. Hands down! She came before you, so how do you even turn the other cheek or snub her? Why would you? Why not collaborate with her?…be that much bigger and better together! That’s immature, Nicki! It’s immature!”
She adds:
“All of us are acknowledging the fact that Lil Kim came before Nicki Minaj. So Nicki, just take a seat. You don’t have to sit down for long- but just take a bow. Just like Beyonce said: ‘Bow down, b*tches!’”
