Mariah Carey is set to grace Las Vegas once more, marking her third residency with the debut of The Celebration of Mimi.

Scheduled to run from April 12 through April 27, the exclusive engagement will take place at Dolby Live in Park MGM, commemorating the 19th anniversary of Carey’s iconic album, The Emancipation of Mimi, which was originally released on April 12, 2005.

In a statement shared with Billboard, it was revealed that the Las Vegas shows will not only feature beloved tracks from The Emancipation of Mimi but also highlight other chart-topping hits from Carey’s illustrious career.

The Emancipation of Mimi, boasting hits like “We Belong Together” and “Shake It Off,” stands as one of Carey’s most successful albums, often referred to as her “comeback album.”

This latest residency, aptly named The Celebration of Mimi, is backed by Live Nation and MGM Resorts, following Carey’s previous residencies at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace, including #1 to Infinity (2015-2017) and The Butterfly Returns (2018-2020).

Carey, whose career skyrocketed with the release of “Vision of Love” in 1990, has since become one of the best-selling artists of all time, with over 200 million albums sold and an impressive 19 Billboard Hot 100 No. 1 singles. Recently, Carey was honored with the Global Impact Award at the Recording Academy Honors presented by the Black Music Collective.

Tickets for The Celebration of Mimi residency will be available to the public starting Saturday, Feb. 10, for the performances scheduled on April 12, 13, 17, 19, 20, 24, 26, and 27. With only eight dates announced, Carey’s approach seems reminiscent of Kelly Clarkson’s successful Las Vegas strategy, where limited engagements have led to potential future dates.

Carey’s return to the Strip signifies not only a homage to her illustrious career but also a testament to her enduring influence and unwavering dedication to her craft. As fans eagerly await the opening night of The Celebration of Mimi, it’s clear that Mariah Carey’s legacy continues to shine bright in the realm of entertainment.
