Marlon Wayans says he would be willing to revisit his 2004 hit White Chicks, however, there’s a catch: the sequel must harness artificial intelligence. The actor-comedian recently revealed that he’s open to making White Chicks 2, but only if AI can reduce the massive makeup demands that came with the original.

Reducing the Workload with AI

In interviews this week, Wayans admitted that his and brother Shawn Wayans’ physical transformation into White Chicks’ Brittany and Tiffany Wilson involved “full-body beat” makeup that consumed hours of their shoot time. He said that nowadays, AI could streamline that process — possibly by generating lifelike prosthetics, modifying facial and body features, or otherwise automating parts of what traditionally required manual application.

“I’m down for a sequel,” Wayans said, adding that the sequel would only make sense if the labor — especially the makeup — could be reduced through new technology. He indicated that the time spent under prosthetics and heavy makeup weighed heavily in previous productions.

While White Chicks 2 remains unconfirmed, Wayans has let fans know he’s seriously considering it. He also made clear that current tech advances would play a pivotal role if the film proceeds. He has emphasized that he won’t move ahead with a sequel unless it honors both the spirit of the original and the practical realities of production in 2025.
