Can you believe Martin Lawrence could have been in “Rush Hour” alongside Jackie Chan?

The actor revealed that he was asked to be in the movie and play the role of Detective James Carter, but turned it down due to a low offer. While appearing on The Tonight Show, Lawrence said, “Jackie Chan asked me to star in Rush Hour with him, but I turned it down.”

He continued, “He did my show, so we talked somewhere in between there. We talked in person, and then we had a dinner at Mr. Chow.” He added why he turned it down, “Wasn’t enough money.”

Lawrence’s comments came during a game he was playing with Jimmy Fallon and Will Smith called True Confessions. After his revelation, the actor said, “I was happy for Chris, that’s what it was supposed to be. Chris Tucker and Jackie Chan, and they brought a beautiful franchise with Rush Hour.”

This confession also comes after Martin Lawrence set the record straight about his health after fans have been showing concern for him. During an interview, he reassured fans that he was perfectly fine and healthy. He also asked for the rumors surrounding him to be put to rest once and for all.
