Marvin Sapp recently received mixed reactions on social media after he held a shut-in at a church.

In a now-viral video, the “Never Would’ve Made It” singer asked the congregation of about 1,000 people at a church in Baltimore to “sow a seed” to their church. Although this is a standard practice in the church, things took a turn when Sapp ordered the ushers of the church to shut the doors and asked them to sow a seed.

“I said close them doors. Ushers close the doors, close the doors. Close the doors,” he said. “We all gon’ leave together. Y’all ain’t going no place but to the restaurant.” He added that he needed the people inside the church as well as those watching online to donate $20, which would equate to $40,000 in total.

Sapp then ordered the pastors who were onstage with him to give $100 instead of $20 and said that “it costs to be up here.”

After the clip went viral, many people on social media expressed how they felt about Marvin Sapp’s actions. See what they has to said below.
