Hampton University has received a new scholarship from the one and only Mary J. Blige.
Blige created the “Strength of a Woman Scholarship” for current college sophomores at the HBCU who identify as female. The women who will receive this scholarship will receive $30,000.
According to reports, in order to be eligible for this grant, applicants must self-identify as female, be a current college sophomore undergraduate at Hampton University, plan to enroll in full-time undergraduate study at Hampton University for the entire 2024-2025 academic year.
They must also have a minimum grade point average of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale, and be pursuing one of the following degrees: Business Administration, Marketing, Arts, Finance, Creative Design. The scholarship also states that Pepsico employees and children of Pepsico employees are ineligible.
Blige’s scholarship is renewable for up to one year or until a bachelor’s degree is earned. For information about the this scholarship, you can click here.
