Mary J. Blige is shaking things up this year with her Strength Of A Woman Festival and Summit, making a triumphant return to her roots in New York City. In collaboration with Live Nation Urban and Pepsi, this renowned event promises a dynamic celebration of music, culture, and female empowerment, marking its third annual occurrence from May 10-12.
Blige, thrilled to bring her festival home, shared, “I’m so excited to bring our Strength of a Woman Festival and Summit to my hometown, New York City, a place that has always been a huge source of inspiration for me. Having the opportunity to continue to uplift, inspire, and build within my community is the reason I created this festival.”
The festival’s core will include a stellar lineup of music and comedy performances, as well as inspirational sessions aimed at empowering women. Angie Martinez will host the Strength of a Woman Summit on May 11, featuring enriching panels, keynote speakers, and workshops covering topics from music to wellness, technology, beauty, and financial literacy.
Headlining the musical extravaganza at Barclays will be none other than Mary J. Blige herself, alongside acclaimed artists like 50 Cent, Jill Scott, Fat Joe, Jadakiss, Muni Long, Lola Brooke, and Funk Flex. Additionally, comedy aficionados can look forward to a side-splitting show at the Apollo Theatre featuring Tiffany Haddish, Don’t Call Me White Girl, and Paris Sashay.
The festival will also showcase a diverse range of cultural experiences, including a jazz concert at the Blue Note featuring Robert Glasper and a gospel brunch hosted by Blige at the Brooklyn Chophouse, followed by a soul-stirring gospel concert headlined by The Clark Sisters with Femme It Forward at Brooklyn Paramount.
Pepsi, a staunch supporter of the festival since its inception, will once again present its Pepsi Dig In platform, spotlighting culinary creations from local Black female restaurateurs, further enriching the festival experience.
Kent Montgomery, Senior VP of PepsiCo Industry Relations and Multicultural Development, expressed Pepsi’s pride in supporting the event, stating, “As a brand rooted in celebrating culture and music and uplifting communities, Pepsi is honored to return as presenting partner and co-producer of the Strength of a Woman Festival and Summit, continuing our shared vision with Mary to elevate and empower women.”
