Mary J. Blige loves it when her fans dress up like her for Halloween.

Speaking with PEOPLE, the Grammy winner loves that she sees her fans recreate her iconic looks.

“I love it so much because it says, you know, I’m a household name,” Blige said.

“When we were kids, we wanted to be Wonder Woman, you know what I mean?” continues Blige

She also remembered dressing up as the members of the iconic rock group KISS with her sister.

“Me and my sister I used to fight over who’s gonna be the guy with the tongue hanging out his mouth,” Blige laughed.

“Now, people are fighting over who’s gonna be Mary J. Blige for Halloween,” she says. “I love that.”

Along with loving the Halloween season, Blige is preparing to release her concert film For My Fans.  Dropping on Nov. 5 and Nov. 8, the footage was filmed during her tour stop at the iconic Madison Square Garden in April.

Blige shared why the meaning of the film means so much to her

“I named it the For My Fans Tour because in all the Mary J. Blige concerts, it’s really about the fans,” she says. “If it wasn’t for them, there would be none of this.”

“It’s all about their reaction to the music that, you know, I’ve been putting out for years. And just how much they love and support me — and as you can see, they don’t miss a beat,” continues Blige. “Like, sometimes I don’t even have to sing that much.”

Kymberli Frueh, EVP of programming and content acquisitions at Trafalgar Releasing, which will distribute the film, lauded Blige for her iconic artistry.

“Mary J. Blige has always represented the heart and soul of New York. And her Madison Square Garden performance reflects that,” Frueh said. “We’re proud to share this historic hometown concert with audiences around the world through the magic of cinema.”
