There’s no need for hateration or holleration in this dance soiree. Mary J. Blige is coming straight to your TVs and is bringing a few guests.
MJB is hosting a new show on BET called The Wine Down. In a teaser, the singer explains that she has always wanted her own show. “You all know me as Mary the entertainer but I can’t wait for you to get to know Mary the friend,” she said. “I always wanted to do a show that’s about me hanging out with people who I love, respect, and admire.”
The singer will sit down with friends of hers and chat with them over a glass (or two) of wine. In an interview with the New York Post, she mentioned that the idea of the show came to her during the pandemic. “The thought about it came to me when COVID first hit, and we were in that quarantine,” she recalled. “And I was just thinking about how many people needed someone to reach out to them … letting us know that we were not alone.”
